AWS DevOps Engineer

Allure Media is on the lookout for a mid-weight AWS DevOps engineer with the skill and experience to jump straight into our small team to help continue the development of our Australian Gawker (Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Kotaku) and Business Insider properties.

The role will be balanced 60%-40% between primarily taking ownership of managing our AWS infrastructure and secondarily joining in to help the rest of the team adding features and improvements to our publications and internal projects.

By taking ownership of our AWS infrastructure, you will be responsible for server maintenance, maximising performance, ensuring redundancy, eliminating security vulnerabilities and managing our code deployment strategies.

From the development standpoint of the role, you will be an experienced PHP developer that is comfortable with the principles of object orientated programming. Within the team, you will be regarded as an equal member and will be encouraged to put forward your own ideologies and suggestions, whilst being just as willing to learn as you are willing to share your own knowledge - egos will need to be left outside of the door.

We're currently pushing boundaries with WordPress for our site publications and using Codeigniter on our internal products, with the view to utilise the latest PHP MVC frameworks going forward.

The working environment is focussed, the culture is friendly, and you'll be surrounded by people who are awesome at what they do.
